Getting Started In Website Flipping

Contrary to what you might think, you actually do not even need to know how to build a website to be a website flipper. Most of the website flippers that are making the big money, just buy sites that are already built. You’re about to learn about multiple levels of website flipping that we developed so that ANYONE can get started.

Website flipping is either building and then selling a website or buying a website and then selling it. Obviously, the point of the game is to sell it for more then what you paid for it. Just like house flipping in the real estate world. Except with website flipping you don’t have to buy a house to get started!

You Can Get Started With As Little As $50 - $100 ($100 would be aggressive)

How do you know which level is best for you?
That’s easy just think about the skill level required to do whats involved in the examples below and the start up costs. Pick the one that best matches your skill level and budget right now, you can always move on to the other levels as you build your knowledge of websites and website flipping.

The Developer Level

In this level you can do one of two different strategies. The first easy method is to build simple 4 page websites using Drag & Drop website builders like Weebly.com. The second easy method is exploiting the differences in the multiple website marketplaces online. For example you can buy low in one marketplace and then sell high in another. Here’s an example:

Case Study #1

Olga is one of our past clients who paid us to coach her on website flipping. She was a middle aged russian woman and was like anyone else. She’d tried everything else, bought lots of courses, and nothing was working. Then we showed her how to exploit the different marketplaces.

Together we looked through some of what I call the 2nd tier marketplaces where sites are usually sold cheaper then they are worth because the marketplace is not as popular. We were able to find a listing where this guy was selling 20 websites at $15 each.

I instructed Olga to buy one site at a time and then list them in one of the 1st tier marketplaces where sites sell for higher prices since the marketplace is more popular.

One by one she bought 7 of those 20 websites and sold each for $50. She was spending $15 to make $50 and doing no extra work other than re-listing the sites for sale in another marketplace. I don’t know whether she ever bought the rest of the sites.

She was pretty happy to go off on her own at that point and thanked me over and over again for finally showing her a system that worked.

Case Study #2

Another client of ours, Rachel Moore, came to us all the way from Isreal. On one of our coaching calls she was 45 minutes late for the call. I was quite frustrated, but when she told me she was late because a terrorist was driving a bulldozer through houses in her area - I eased up on her!

It’s amazing what we take for granted here in the U.S.

I showed Rachel how to create simple 4 page websites using Weebly.com (which is drag and drop easy) and then listing them for sale in one of the 1st tier marketplaces.

Together we made her first 2 websites and then I showed her how to write a good website listing (crucial). Then her homework assignment was to go list those sites. THEN FOR 3 WEEKS I don’t hear from her and I’m getting worried that she gave up without trying like a lot of people do.

I get an email from her and it went something like “Hey Justin, I’ve been busy for the last 3 weeks and also kinda didn’t believe it would work as easily as you made it sound. Then I listed my sites AND THEY SOLD IN 11 MINUTES!!! I can’t belive this, it really works, thank you so much.”

The Marketer Level

In this level you buy a cheap site off someone in the developer level. Then, you market that site. Meaning you drive traffic to and monetize the site with affiliate ads, or Adsense, or even your own product.

For example let’s say you buy a membership site that’s already got content in it and the only thing it needs is traffic to get members to sign up. These sites sell all the time and usually cost about $300 - $500.

Now that you have this site you pay for some advertising from sources like Adwords or Zango. Then you setup the website to charge $1 for a 7 day trial and then $29.99 after that. That system just works real smooth.

Once you have just 25 members paying $29.99 per month you are making $749 per month. The best price to sell a site like this is 5x - 7x it’s monthly revenue. That would be anywhere from $3,500 - $5000 for the sale price. If you listed that site for sale at $2,500 you could have a very quick sale.

25 members is less then 1 new sign up per day. In our live seminar we will teach you the same method that I used to get 120 new members within 20 minutes and 200 members total within 24 hours.

I later sold that site for $40,000

Case Study #3

There is an interesting story to how I sold my first marketer level site. It all started out with just a $97 investment. Here’s the story of what I did from there.

I bought resell rights to this video course for $97. It came with the product and the website to sell it with. I then paid a graphic designer $35 to redo the graphics on the website it came with. I re-wrote the salesletter a little bit and added an affiliate program to the site.

The first month I paid about $60 for some Adwords ads and that turned into about $300 in sales. Next, month I reivested $150 of that $300 back into more Adwords advertising. That turned into $500 in product sales.

Next, I started recruiting other websites in my market to be my affiliate meaning they make money when someone from their site comes to mine and buys my product. I also recruited some rookie marketers to promote my product by offering them to teach them how I was making money with Adwords.

I showed them the same way of promoting my product with Adwords that I was using. That month I made almost $3,500 with me and all my new affiliates all advertising my product.

The next month I listed that site for sale at about 5x it’s monthly revenue ($15,000) and sold it to an Austrailian investor. That site is still around today however, it doesn’t look the same any more.

Skills Required: Basic web design or knowing how to outsource it, traffic generation, copywriting
Start up Costs: About $500 - $1000 for buying your first site, hiring outsourcers, and marketing costs

The Investor Level

This level is all about collecting passive income generators. For example the Australian investor that bought my site for $15,000 now owns a site that makes $3,500 per month practically on autopilot. If he has 10 more like that then he’s making $35,000 per month on autopilot.

I have to be honest here and tell you that I have not yet made it myself to the investor level. I’m still in the marketer level selling sites for anywhere from $2,000 to my highest so far is $40,000. However, investor level website flippers call me to help them determine whether sites are a good deal for them or not.

Case Study #4

Nick was a guy I used to work with - He came to me wanting to sell a website he had been working on with a friend of his. At the same time one of my marketing buddies had told me that if I ever see any good deals to give him a call.

I called my buddy Travis and told him about Nick’s site. We researched how much traffic his site is getting. Then we researched in Google to see if he had any high rankings in Google. Finally, we researched the niche that Nick’s website serviced to see if he was selling what the niche wanted.

Everything looked like a great deal, a price was negotiated ($13,000), and now Travis owns Nick’s site which if I remember correctly was making around $3,000 per month.

From there Travis recruits more affiliates and pays for more advertising and increases the revenue that his new site is producing. Travis was able to skip the hard labor of starting up the site from scratch and jump right into the monthly profits.

Skills Required: Advanced traffic generation, outsourcing, and copywriting
Start up Costs: About $50,000 to buy a couple sites that will afford you to buy more and more each month
